Day 94 April 4

Cousin Penney came over tonight to hear about our China trip. We all had a good time with our show and tell. Cadi showed her Power Point presentation that she has been working on for her 5th grade class. She has over 40 slides with a few more to get finished tomorrow. She's doing her presentation on Monday.

Day 93 April 3

Cadi went to a friend's house to spend the night tonight. Josi and I are having a special treat tonight. Since Cadi's allergic to peanuts there are a lot of things we don't have, but since she's gone we're indulging!

Day 92-April 2

I love Spring. It has nothing to do with flowers or mowing grass or anything else a lot of people associate with spring in the rest of the world. The one main thing that spring means in Alaska is the return of the light and on a sunny day it is so much more evident. This morning when I went upstairs to wake up the girls, I opened the curtains above Cadi's bed and was greeted by this sunrise at 7:00 am. Remember this is the same place that in December on a stormy day sometimes the streetlights don't go off all day. I love the longer days and the promise that the even longer days of summer are coming!

Day 91 April 1

We had sunshine today and the fact that we are having so many more daylight hours makes spring so obvious even though there is still so much snow on the ground. Tonight as Cadi worked on homework I played with the light shining into the window and through this moonstone I both in Najing when I adopted Cadi. Just loved how the colors are so much more vibrant now than in the dullness of winter.
