Day 6-Jan 6th
This is a big part of who I am. I am a teacher and fan of young children. This is my 26th year of teaching and 22 of those have been in kindergarten. I love the eagerness and honesty of young children! I can't show you the kids I teach, but I can tell you they are an amazing bunch of kids this year. I haven't had a single day that I haven't wanted to be with them this year. They help me stay young. This picture is of one of my students working on her penmanship today.

Great photo!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up it was my dream to be a Kindergarten teacher. I guess in a way I will finally get to live out that dream, then a first grade, then second, I'm sure you figured it out, we are going to homeschool EmmaLi.
The kids in Cordova are so lucky to have you, Miss Moffatt!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to teach.. so now I volunteer 3 days a week in Lizzie's kindergarten class. It's one of the most rewarding things I've done outside of parenting. I just love working with the kids! How great that you still love your job after all these years.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! I am realizing that besides the photos it is nice getting these everyday thoughts dow that we might not scrap about. It is so wonderful to read how much you truly love your job. JoAnn is right - the kids are lucky to have you! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that photo!! Love how it's focused on the writing hand and blurs out to the edges!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!! I was a kindergarten teacher for 8 years before becoming a mom. It was the best job ever. Kindergarten rocks!
ReplyDeleteMarleen, I LOVE your photos - just magical!! I am in awe of LL's kindergarten teacher, and I have to admit to some wistful yearnings along those lines myself... until reality sets in!
ReplyDeleteI can only hope that when my son starts school next year that he gets a teacher that loves their job as much as you seem too.
ReplyDeleteMarleen! this is fantastic! it just captures the heart of it all!
